"I would recommend to anyone thinking about coming here to do it!"

" Coming to Harbin to teach at Joy Schools has been such a great experience for me! Harbin is an interesting city being that it is not only Chinese culture, but it also has a lot of influence from Russia. There are many things to do here, and so much delicious food! One of my favourite things to do here is performing with my band at some of the bars. It's such a unique and fun experience! As for teaching, the kids are great! It doesn't take long to get the hang of teaching. The schools are all very friendly and helpful. I adore my co-teachers! The management are also incredibly helpful. I always feel comfortable talking to them, and they have helped me with SO many things here! I really do love my life here. I would recommend to anyone thinking about coming here to do it!"

"The classroom environment is often as fun for the teacher as it is for the students"

"Teaching at Joy Harbin has been a fascinating experience. The classroom environment is often as fun for the teachers as it is for the students, and the Chinese and foreign staff alike are extremely helpful and friendly. Joy is an honest, reliable employer, and the salary is so competitive that I was able to bolster my savings while still maintaining a rich social life – parks and beer gardens, expat bars, and countless restaurants representing almost as many cultures. Harbin is a colorful, lively city that will appeal to anyone with a sense of adventure. Moreover, the locals have always been helpful, neighborly, and eager to help foreigners practice their Mandarin. Working at Joy Harbin has been uniquely gratifying, and I wouldn’t hesitate for a moment to recommend it to anyone seeking work in China."

"I was able to save a ton of money"

“As someone who did not have much experience teaching English, I really did not know what to expect coming into Joy Harbin. Thanks to their in-depth training program and teacher assistance it was easy to blend right in. Teaching was simple and could be a lot of fun. All teaching materials were provided, which meant the teacher's only job was to put it together and present it. Outside of work, the school sponsored holiday parties and activities to bring everyone together. The school provides plenty of vacation time to explore all parts of China and the rest of Asia. There was also enough time to take Chinese classes before work and really make the most of being abroad. Costs are low in Harbin and even with travelling a lot and taking regular Chinese classes, I was able to save a ton of money and send it home. I would highly recommend Joy Harbin as a reliable choice to anyone looking to teach abroad.

"There are lots of foreign teachers for people to make friends with"

"Joy is a school where you will be treated very well and Harbin is a nice city which everyone can enjoy living in. There are lots of foreign teachers for people to make friends with and many helpful Chinese teachers who can’t do enough to assist you in any of your needs, from learning Chinese to places to go in the long breaks you get from teaching. Joy is place which for the right person, cannot be beaten as an experience."

"Joy helped me every step of the way"

“Everyone I worked with at Joy was a joy to work with. The Chinese teachers were always on hand to help with lesson preparation and advice on how best to interact with their students. The foreign teachers were all very welcoming and eager to swap game ideas for class. There was a strong sense of community among the foreign teachers. We would eat at each other's apartments, go out to the local beer garden, sing karaoke together, and check out the sights of Harbin. The school supplied a lovely apartment and handled all the visa requirements such as medical checks, etc. Going to China was a bit of a trip into the unknown but Joy helped me every step of the way and gave me a lot of support.”
